Brembo disc and pad replacement

Postby paul999 » Thu Jul 07, 2011 10:44 pm

I have a 2005 xkr 4.2s with the brembo brakes.(red calipers). The front discs have covered 44 000 miles and need replacing.Does anyone know of a cheaper disc and pad set up as the Brembo parts are extortionate.I need to know that they will be reliable and safe.I am not a heavy footed driver but still appreciate good stopping power. Thanks Paul

I've looked closely at several replacement Brembo discs and noticed that they all appear to be the same casting as the originals. Bearing in mind the relatively small numbers of discs any single manufacturer could expect to sell, it would not be surprising if they were all to be made in the same factory! However, there's no guarantee the discs are made from identical material. I can say that I have used replacements from David Manners on my car and found them as good as the originals. Mike.
