Hi All
Unfortunately I have misplaced a spanner from the Jag tool set having disconnected my battery - it's the one in the 1995 set between the 1/2 " and the tiny one - no doubt it will turn up when I don't need it, but in the meantime I'll need to get another as none of my non-Jag spanners appears to be the right size. Can you just let me know the size as I don't want to buy a whole set.
David/Paul - I'm thinking that you'll be able to help me on this one.
thanks very much
Richard

Re: Jaguar Tool Set - Spanner Missing
ha ha, no it's a bit more than my being a tad OCD...i currently can't reconnect the battery without using my adjustable pliers, so not ideal.

Re: Jaguar Tool Set - Spanner Missing
Sounds like it went metric on later cars like yours. I have a dedicated spanner for my battery terminals which is 1/4" Whitworth (the same as 5/16" BSF) which is a strange size at 13.34mm.
My '88 has a generous mix of AF and metric all over the place, which is fine if you have spanners and sockets of both kinds, the problems happen when less caring owners use the wrong one or worse an adjustable spanner and the edges get rounded off. As the saying goes, if you use a metric spanner and it slips you risk damaging your nuts
At work (Railway), Whitworth rules completely although even these vary as for the same thread, as they made the nut and bolt heads smaller during the war to save metal
