Flat battery not any more

Postby coleman998 » Sun Dec 06, 2009 10:33 am

Hi all

Just put the car away for the winter and thinking what to do about the battery. I had a look on tinternet for battery chargers, I came across solar powered trickle chargers. So I priced some up and found Maplins electronics have got a sale on 12v solar powered charger £19.99 reduced to £9.99.

I hope this info will be a use to others. :)

The best was to be 100% sure that the battery is always fulley charged is to use what i have fitted. This is a electronic switched mode mains charger that can be left conected to the car for months without any problems .

The model i have is made by CTEK and is model 3600 but you could also use the 800 model which is upto 800mA max charge. The 3600 model has a larger current charge of upto 3.6A and they also have a winter mode which charges to a slightly higher battery voltage before cut off. Do a search for CTEK CHARGERS . I have found it great and will buy another for my other jag soon. I hope that helps you
