Question: Does this ring true, was there a standard colour pinstripe for each colour?
My old english white car (1977 Series 2 XJ-C) is up for a respray and if I can I would like to get it right…
Is there any other source of info on pinstripes, colour and whether they were single or double lines etc.

Re: Correct Pinstripe Colour
Unfortunately, after 50 years of owners modifying their coupes, it's difficult to establish definitively some of the the minor details, like the pinstriping colours and its exact positioning. Just to make life difficult, Jaguar played around, variously using either the chrome side strips or pinstriping for different model years. I confess that my own Greensand 1977 coupe, owned since 1981, was purchased with a red pinstripe but, purely as a matter of personal preference, I changed it for a black one. Coupes only ever had a single coloured pinstripe. The table you shared is the best source of information that I have seen. Mike.
