Electrifying news!

Perhaps the ! is overkill...
Anyway, I've swapped my 2008 XJ TDVi for a 2021 I-Pace SE, bought from Group 1 (previously Inchcape) of Derby.
So far I'm moderately impressed. It goes well, lots of exciting electronics to play with, and yes it will charge eventually from a 13A socket. It would be better if the rear camera didn't get covered with traffic film - I got back from collecting it at night, and couldn't make out anything when reversing...

Having downloaded the manual, I've spent several days studying it, and now need to sit in the car going through the menus to see what toys are installed. I asked the dealer for the build sheet, but it hasn't arrived yet, and looking on the Internet they seem rather long and possibly too detailed.

Now I'm in the process of ordering the free home charger - a fair bit of work to determine just what's needed.

Congratulations! There hasn't been a better time to buy a second hand electric car. PM me with the VIN if you'd like me to attempt to see if I can supply you with any build sheet details. Mike.

Indeed. I looked at the same transaction about a year ago, and used I-Paces then seem about £10,000 dearer than now.

Excellent news Paul.

Don't forget to read bach through the past 2 years of the SUV section in the magazine where I have been writing about living with the I-Pace. If you have any questions please ask away. Pictures and a few words about your experience for the magazine would be interesting.

Good luck with the car

Kind regards
Paul

Hi Paul.

Just looking back through the past magazines online and you have March 2021 to June 2021 - four articles by David Wood about the different forms of powertrains including Battery, Hybrid and Hydrogen. Then there is David's 2 part feature in the SUV section of the May 2022 and June 2022 editions, which is about the Technology in the I-Pace verses the rivals at the time. Covering Batteries and electric motor tech. My regular articles start in the SUV section of the August 2022 edition.

You might also like to see a great book by David Bicknell about the I-Pace which can be found at

Some light Christmas reading

Kind regards

Paul,
Thanks for the pointers. Once the rush is over(?), and I've finished the I-Guide I'll settle down to (another) long read!
