Been out today in XJ40 today, sunroof open and both front windows open, lovely until got home and found n/s would not lift. Neither front or rear n/s windows will work and there is no click when the switches are operated. Early hopes that was simply a fuse were dashed as fuse is fine. I wondered if each side might have a separate relay but I believe each door has it's own relay?
I have also read that there is a separate ECU for the windows which is rather a worry.
Any thoughts anyone?

Silly question, but you have checked the fuse for the N/S windows and not just the fuse for the O/S windows?

Yep, fuses are in separate boxes in the relevant footwells.
