XF Sportbrake (2020) Door Panel Removal

I have a 70-plate XF Sportbrake which has developed an annoying rattle from inside the front passenger door - and possibly also from the N/S rear door. I suspect it's to do with the cables to the window mechanism as it seems to diminish/disappear when the window is would down.

Does anyone know how to remove the interior door panels, please? I successfully carried out this job on my previous XF, a series 1 2010 model, with the help of a very helpful article from Jaguar World magazine which showed where the various screws are and which have to be removed before the trim clips can be released. However, the more modern series 2 XFs seem to be completely different and I can find only 2 screws on the front door (one in the door pull, the other I assume is behind the small piece of trim at the top trailing edge of the door immediately below the glass), whilst on the rear door I can find only 1 screw (in the door pull). Surely there must be more screws than that?

On a general note, whilst I'm very pleased with my recently purchased Sportbrake, my impression is that the interior trim is not as well screwed together in the series 2 XF as it was in the series 1. Perhaps that's why I can't find any more screws?!!

Hi James,

I am not sure about securing points for the door trim and all info online seems to relate to earlier models. I will let you know if I find anything.

I did eventually succeed in finding quite a helpful YouTube video - see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_If8W7d4W9A. As you will see, I was right in thinking that there must be more screws as there are several hidden away behind pieces of trim. The video shows the removal of the N/S front door panel, so I assume that the process is similar for the N/S rear door. As my XF lives outside, I now need to wait for a reasonably clement day to tackle this job. Could be a long wait in this part of the world (NW Highlands)!

The comments in the video about the ambient lighting are interesting. I'm not sure that my vehicle has this fitted. I shall investigate whilst the door panel is off.
