Living it large in Lincolnshire

Postby derekperry37133 » Wed May 22, 2024 8:56 am

Hello all,
I thought I'd introduce myself and my lovely F-Type Jaaaag. Sorry, couldn't resist. If anybodies watched the Top gear trio in the Sandbox, you'll know what I mean.

Anyway, My name is derek and am based in the farthest north flung spot in the fabulous county of Lincolnshire. I have recently brought my 2018 P300 F-Type Convertible as my first soiree into the world of Jaguars. I have to say coming from the likes of MX5's, SLK, Mini Roadster, Abarth 124 Spider and even a Smart Roadster, I have to say this F-type is brilliant. It's only the 2.0L inline 4 version as I use it daily. However, it packs a mighty punch which is more than sufficient for todays UK roads. I enjoy road trips into Europe. The wife tags along under duress but I think she secretly enjoys it. We are going to the Scottish highlands in June. Hopefully, plenty of roof down driving and not to many midges.

So, I will be joining the North Lincolnshire region group and hope to get along to some interesting events.

TTFN
Derek

Hi Derek, welcome to Jaguars and the Forum - nice machine. If you need any assistance with your plans for a Scotland trip, drop me a PM and I will do what I can. I live just outside Aberdeen on Royal Deeside and organise lots of Jaguar trips in the UK and abroad, so lots of good driving stuff in the back pocket.

June will see a couple of events that may coincide with your vacation. Firstly there is the Perth City Centre show on Saturday, Jun.01.24 and then there is the Scottish Jaguar Enthusiasts Day at the Riverside Museum in Glasgow on Saturday, Jun.29.24. This latter event is being organised by me in conjunction with the Scottish JEC Regions, so a great place to meet fellow enthusiasts. Our local Grampian Region also has an evening run and supper on Thursday, Jun.13.24.

Enjoy your convertible.

Hi Derek,
I'll look forward to meeting you and seeing your car at the N Lincs meetings. We have a variety of models attending meetings and your F-type will be a welcome addition. :D Mike.

Thanks Jim for the offer. We are coming to Scotland on the 15th June. Couple of nights in Glasgow, then visit the Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel. Then it's of to Loch Awe for 4 nights with a trip to Tobamory before heading home via Hexham. I'm sure we will be back so will catch up with you then.
