engine motor cover

Postby ISPIZUASTYPE » Mon Feb 05, 2024 1:07 pm

I have removed part number 2R836A949BF, the engine motor cover, from my S Type 4.2, model year 2003. This engine accumulates a lot of heat in the summer (Spain!), and I am considering the possibility of leaving this cover unmounted. Is there any technical impediment? Is it advisable?

Hi, I assume you meant the plastic cover put there to make it look prettier? No harm in removing it, though unless the engine is overheating I would not bother, it is not going to make much difference. if the engine is overheating then it needs investigating further.

Hi, strangely the SVR models of the latest F-type are supplied without the plastic engine cover fitted as standard, apparently a multi pound cost extra! I don't believe therefore that leaving it off in the hotter climate will make much difference.
