winter cover

Postby painter » Tue Jul 18, 2023 3:26 am

Has anybody found a car cover manufacturer producing a 'bespoke' cover that really does fit the XK, rather than one from a range of standard sizes (that nearly fit but not very well). Looking for an outside cover for the winter as my car is under a car port rather than in a garage (which is too small for the car :( unless you can find a way of climbing out of the boot!)

well it appears that Adamesh are the best bet. Haven't received the cover yet but custom made + Jaguar logo at a good price. Will provide a 'fitted' photo.

Just received the cover from Adamesh, and the first cover of four previous purchases (returned) that actually fits. Some photos attached

Hello Jon,
yes, it has several ties which, although I only use one, I imagine would survive 60-70 mph winds. The water beads off the surface although with prolonged exposure it soaks into the fabric, but the bodywork is almost completely dry beneath. Fits well and looks good.
Probably the best available at the price in my opinion.

Many thanks for the update :) Does it have a fleece layer like the Moltex covers shown in the JEC shop ? Have you ever tried one of those in your quest for the right cover ?

Hello Jon,
no I didn't try the JEC cover. Although quite a few options the range appeared to be 'multi model' and not expressly tailored for 2006+ XKR's. I live in Cornwall, (Lizard Peninsula), and we frequently experience very strong winds. I needed a cover that would be a tight fit and not have to rush out every time a storm is forecast. The inner lining is soft enough to protect the paintwork although I wouldn't describe it as fleece. As you can see from the photos the fit is very good, which was not the case on any of the previous brands purchased.
Hope this helps
