Another One Bites The Dust

On my way to work last Sunday afternoon I saw this XJ8 outside the EMR metal recyclers.

Just abandoned waiting to go in and be crushed, such a shame.
I managed to salvage some of the easy to get off parts so not all wasted.
Take care and safe driving.

Overall what a disappointing waste. We must do much more to protect and promote what already exists by restoring, maintaining modifying and improving. If we can all do our upmost in supporting this important mission then we can help safeguard our future and our mental health.

According to the gov.uk MOT checker, this car ran out of test three years ago and seemingly required a load of chassis welding to get it through last time. But it is indeed a shame to lose another X308 from 'our' fleet.

On a more positive note I've noticed not one, but two new X308s have appeared recently local to where I live; both cars are silver, and each looks to be in everyday use. :D
Best regards,
John.

IMHO it’s better to weld the Girl up.
Preventative maintenance is always best too…
I always ask my mechanic to touch in and rustproof any areas and recoat with waxoyl every year.

But more on the scene is…Excellent 😀
