Rev in an XF

Hello - I am new to owning a Jaguar (a 2015 XF Sportbrake 2.2) and enjoying it very much. Car is an absolute star on long journeys, quiet, comfortable (even on the 20" wheels), and surprisingly economical with careful driving. I have a few glitches creeping in (see my post on the heating/AC section) but overall it is such a pleasure to drive. I have to say the idea of a Rev driving a Jaguar took some getting used to - we had to change cars suddenly last year due to an engine fault and the Jaguar seemed to fit the bill the best - like i say a few glitches to work on, such as not being able to open the tailgate with the external release (but it does work on the key fob). Overall though - pleased to have the car.

I'm sure you will get the glitches sorted out.
You could try emailing David Marks for advice,one of the clubs technical advisors,his email is in the magazine.
He knows a thing or two about Jaguars .

Hi Adam, don't see why a Rev can't drive a Jaguar. Back in the day (over 60 years ago), my local village minister (Scotland) was a real car fanatic and had quite a parade of cars over the years.

In your profile, it would be good to update it so as to show your "home location", that often helps folks on here to better direct you to a local service support capability, or other members who can oft times help.

Regarding your tailgate not opening from the external switch, but opening on the fob. This would prove that the solenoid controlling the tailgate release is okay, but the switch itself may be faulty, with something as simple as dirty contacts. Should be an easy fix by the sounds of it.
