F Type 2016MY Satnav settings

Postby sportbrake » Wed Dec 28, 2022 4:42 pm

On a recent trip to Spain I found that the satnav on my F Type led me on several wild goose chases, I believe seeking the shortest route to my destination instead of the fastest. For instance when on a motorway that skirted a town I would be sent through the town to join the motorway again further down the road. try as I might |I cannot see how to adjust the satnav to avoid this problem. Can anybody help please? Chris

There is a definite way of changing from shortest to quickest, but for the F Type I am unsure how.

I have given up on the satnav in my XF as it is pretty useless and now use google maps. Waze is also good, but obviously you need a smart phone for either. Both are on the app store for free.

I don't use the satnav on my XF much either, but a few days ago I tried to programme in a route with 4 intermediate points - after repeated attempts I gave up, having nearly lost the will to live! intuitive it is not!! I haven't bothered with Waze yet as Google seems to do the job OK for now, but I do intend to give it a try as it seems well recommended.

I have discovered the answer. You must first set a destination then choose 'options' one of which is 'fastest' - simples. I feel suitably embarrassed.
