XJS Celebration 4.0 Celebration Aircon pipe leak

Postby john@mepal » Thu Sep 10, 2009 10:11 pm

Hello, I need help with the repair or replacement of an A/C pipe, the long one which runs low down in the engine bay under the cooling system header tank and screen wash filler cap. My local Jaguar specialist tells me it is no longer available from Jaguar. I live in Cambridgeshire but will take the car further afield to get it replaced or repaired correctly.
Or, if a new or used pipe is available, my local Jaguar specialist is happy to fit it and re-gas the A/C. Many thanks.

I believe that an AC specialist would be able to make up a pipe of the correct length with the right fittings on the ends.

May be some time on Google would turn up such a specialist.

Hi John and a warm welcome to the Forum :D
I hope that you're loving the Celebration experience (I did).

Do you have a part number from the manual? If you haven't got the manual both parts and service manuals are readilly available together on CD from the JEC or JDHT and are an excellent investment for about £13.00.

Meanwhile, follow this link thru to the relevent section with your chassis number to hand and you should find part no., availability and price from Jaguar Classic Parts (if priced=available, if contact us = not available at present)

Thank you very much for the warm welcome, and yes I am enjoying the Celebration. Very much.
Thank you too to steveww for his response to my post.
It is our second Jaguar, although I sold that one, an XJ40 a few years ago, and we have also parted with our Condition 1 MG B GT. We use an MG F and the Celebration now. Our toys!
I shall take your advice and purchase the parts & service manual CDs and take it from there. Thank you.
My XJS is very good, pretty standard car I think, has a few marks here and there, full documentation, full Jaguar Service history and the faults so far can really be put down to the car not being used much over recent years.
Many thanks, regards, John

Thanks Tel, it is Kevin at Jagutek who has been sorting out my XJS for me, and he told me the part is no longer available from Jaguar, but he is on away now and we agreed that his Team would look, and I would look for the part too. I've been out today, so I'll try to look again Sunday/Monday.
Everyone is being really helpful, thank you all.

John
