I have just been reading this month's Jaguar World and there is an excellent feature on the XJS.
It mentions that the scuttle drain holes should be kept clean. As something of a "newbie" to the XJS where exactly are these important holes that need cleaning?

Scuttle drain tubes
in the ' scuttle '
they are located under the wiper grille, and go from the scuttle into the engine bay in rubber to some shiny stainless tubes out under the engine , they are about 35mm in diameter
if they block, the scuttle will fill, and this will overflow into the air intake section , and you will get wet feet when you go round a corner

As they are under the wiper grill explains why I had not spotted them.
I will put this on my list of maintenance tasks.
Thanks
