retrofit of cruise control to F Type

Postby harry.sherrard443 » Wed Jun 15, 2022 5:56 pm

I have a 2014 F Type without cruise control. I was told by the vendor company that retro fitting cruise control was not only feasible but fairly straightforward and not that expensive. I've now gone to a Jaguar main dealer which has told me flatly that it's impossible. Does anyone have any experience of this issue? Thanks. Harry Sherrard

Adding 'accessories' to Jaguars has become harder as time has gone on. E.g. I have added cruise control to nineties Jaguars but generally speaking, post 2000 cars need to have been configured by the factory to accept a particular extra function, like cruise control or folding mirrors. No doubt, there are companies around with the necessary IT skills to modify the configuration files in the same way as ECUs can be modified to add power. Hence, it might be worth approaching companies like Swallow's at Rooksbridge or similar engine tuners. Mike.

Hi Harry,

I am having folding mirrors fitted to my 2018 F-TYPE by LR Retrofit - Mo who runs things there will be able to tell you whether cruise control is possible. I know he has fitted it to other JLR cars in the past. You should be able to contact Mo via https://lr-retrofits.co.uk/ - if not then as Mike suggests I would talk to Swallows https://swallows-jag.co.uk/
