How does the wood trim on the dashboard area come off? I have had a look and am a bit worried about snapping it. The door panel trims have to have the door cards removed I would guess but the rest is a mystery to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Wood trim removal
the dash sections can be a little tricky to remove, but it is a simple pull off job
best to start by dropping the glovebox lid , get a flat wide screwdriver or similar and start by gently inserting the tool between the wood and the dash on the centre vent section , the trim is held in place by bent wire pins into holes, once started, it will pull off, its actually quite strong
the glovebox lid wood its self is screwed to the back of the lid, remove the rear tim of the glovebox and expose the screws holding the wood , be sure to catch it when taking out the last screw
the end vents are the hardest, and though not obvious are handed , you will need to either get a hooked device to go through the middle to pry off, or brave it and go in from the edge , but you could damage the dash that way
hope some of this helps

Wood trim removal
Thanks Brake Buster, Your help was excellent, Trim removed this morning and lacquer removed very slowly during the day. Now the hard part begins, Restoration and re-lacquer. Oh yes and try to locate some trim clips as I managed to snap some of them.
