How to remove phone details when selling

I am about to sell my 2007 XJ Sovereign and want to remove all my contacts and phone details from the car. I can only find details in the handbook about adding a Bluetooth phone. Has anybody any ideas as to how to reboot the phone. Maybe disconnecting the battery?

Hi Barry, within the phone menu, there is usually a soft button on the screen that allows you to 'delete phone'. This is a necessary piece of the puzzle because the memory is limited to the number of phones it can hold.
Keep the phone far enough away from the car as you sit in and turn on the ignition. Go to the phone tab and look at the option tabs.
Someone with more specific knowledge will no doubt be along shortly.

I did clear my phone book entries when I changed my X350 XJ6 for my current XJ but can't remember how I did it. As usual the internet has the answer apparently. This procedure is copied from a post on Jaguarforums.com. I have not tried but it did seems sort of familiar and is supposed to work on all Jaguar Bluetooth systems.

With your phone switched off, in the car on the touchscreen:

1. press the PHONE button
2. enter ##3#*# on the keypad
3. press the PHONE button
4. switch the ignition OFF
5. wait at least 6 minutes before switching the ignition ON again

Thanks both especially Brian that procedure seems perfectly to fit in with the less than friendly way of doing things in the menu! I will try tomorrow.
