Vehicle has been in garage to look at another electrical issue and while in I asked them to have a look around the car. They have isued a report with the following, ( the bush covers are split as reported as I have looked at them)
Both lower rear wishbone bush covers split covers split - quoted £216.51 +Vat per side parts and £105.00 + Vat per side labour.
Both rear drop link ball joint covers split - quoted £90.60 + vat fitted for the pair.
NSR track arm outer rose joint bush cover split - quoted £97.64 + Vat Parts and £60.00 plus vat labour
There is no play in the joints it just that the covers are split but I do realise that over time this will affect the joints.
Questions
Do the lower wishbones need replacing or can the bushes be replaced and is it a DIY job - I am quite proficient
Are these an MOT fail or Advisory
Do the prices quoted sound reasonable
also have fault code P0687 - ECM/PCM POWER RELAY - CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH and they are saying it needs a new fusebox at £250.34 + Vat parts plus £120 + vat labour to replace and reprogramme
Thoughts would be welcome and thanks in advance
Chris

Re: Rear suspension 2008 X150 convertible
One thing is certain. Split ball joint covers are MoT test failures. Whether the costs are reasonable is not possible to say without knowing whether the work involves fitting just ball joint covers, new joints/bushes or replacement of the wishbones and whether they are new Jaguar, new aftermarket or second hand items. Hi Chris, there was a comprehensive article on this subject in the Modern XK column of the magazine in August 2021, the link below should take you to the appropriate volume in the digital library, where you will find some interesting updates to your issue.

Re: Rear suspension 2008 X150 convertible
The prices quoted were to replace all items which seems to be the way these days as it is easier for a garage to remove/replace rather than remove/repair. The prices were to replace with new original parts..
It appears the lower wishbone bushes need replacing which would require access to a press which I don't have.
Thanks for the link Jim I have that particular magazine on hard copy and it covers a lot of what is required on my car other than the lower wishbones.
