Air Suspension

Postby marcusgoody » Thu Feb 17, 2022 10:28 am

i also keep getting the "Air Suspension Fault" warning on the dash!
Mine is a 2006 XJ Sovereign LWB model.
On inspecting the Rear L/H Connector in the boot I found that someone had 'forced' the connector without aligning properly -
and damaged the Pins!
On top of the strut is a conical alu cover retained by 3 allen headed capscrews.
On removal of same the sensor with the damaged pins is free to remove.
Nobody lists this item as a spare part - not even Jaguar - and the item isn't even identified in their Parts Catalogue!!!!!!!!

I wonder how many struts Jaguar have replaced @ circa £400.00 + labour etc etc when the failure might have been just the sensor?
Looks as if my only option is to purchase a s/h strut - and hope the sensor wires aren't bent - so I can replace it in my strut without changing the whole strut!!!!
Unless anybody knows a source for this sensor?

Marcus,

Try Eurojags. I can't believe a breaker couldn't provide just the sensor.

I have a spare strut in the garage - taken off as it was making a clonking noise. I could be persuaded to remove the bit you need and send it to you. Contact me if this is useful.

Sorry about this, but the one i have is off the front and now i look closely at it, it appears to be different. I cannot see a way to remove the electrical connectors.
