Does anyone have any recomendations for tyre make and model for the XJS? Mine is going to need some new boots soon and it would be good to know what works well on the car. I never always try to buy the best tyres available as it is only those four palm sized patches that keep one on the road.

Personally I use Pirelli P7's, better than the P6000's but in keeping with OE....
Very good ride/grip/wear on my car.

Hi,
After some research I opted for Falken FK-452's at only £75 a corner fitted.
They have attracted really great reviews and work very well on my XJS.
Better in the wet than the P6000's and seem to have more traction from the rear, failed to spin them at all (although not really trying).
I think they are made by Dunlop in Japan.
The P6000's seemed to go off quite quickly with age.
Mike.

I've enjoyed Falkens in the past and currently have new Pirelli P600s at the moment. Both are/were fine.
In the last KWE newsletter they are recommending Avon ZV3 225 x 60 x 15 over P600 or 6000 saying that they are better, cheaper and easier to find.

On 15" inch wheels - I use Falken ZE912's. Cat handles great on these. P600's I did not like and are very difficult to find now. Avon's I have not used on a Cat, but previously used on a BMW. Handled fine, but certainly not hard-wearing!
