South Derbyshire new member advise needed

Postby johnhughes170663820 » Sat Apr 25, 2020 12:25 pm

Hi all i am a relatively new member but find the site really helpful when i need info i recently bought my 1998 XKR convertible dream car for me after working for the company for 40 years i have attached a pic its in fairly good condition i am continuing work in progress with it and looking forward to lock down ending and enjoying the sunshine

Help required :
The oatmeal trim is a little dirty as you would expect for its age does anyone have any good tips for cleaning the grime off or best products to use?

Paint work could do with a proper polish it has been machine mopped previously but not well and could do with a proper detailing to remove marks but i am worried just letting anyone with a mop machine loose on it so doers anyone know anyone reasonable priced who they would recommend in my area

Your help as always appreciated

Hi John,

If you are into trying it yourself, by hand as opposed to machine (which I recommend) then you can get everything you need from the Meguiars UK online site - with free delivery within a couple of days. There are also a bunch of "how to" videos to help you out. I have also written articles for the Modern XK Section column in our JE magazine on the use of the Meguiars polishes and waxes. If you want to have a go yourself - lots of time during lockdown - let me know and I will email you separately on what you will need for the exterior and interior.

You will find my email in the JE Magazine at the top of the Modern XK Section pages.

Best Regards

Jim Mann

I plan on using the meguiars products also, just dropping a message mostly because I am also a new member in south Derbyshire. :)

Welcome to the forum. If you haven't already done it, the best way to become acquainted with fellow members is to visit one or more of your local regions. Friendly advice and local activities are available there (covid permitting!) :D Mike.
