X300 electric problem after welding.

Postby stujags » Thu Jun 10, 2021 8:03 am

Any suggestions on this ? After welding my sills most the electrics don’t work. Seems to be anything related to ignition power doesn’t work so I’m wondering if there is fuse or relay that’s popped and preventing power to the ignition feed ? Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Stu,

With a boot-mounted battery, are you absolutely sure that you haven't damaged any of the wiring from the boot to the front of the car during your welding?

After much research I was pointed towards inertia switch. Sure enough my hammering had set it off, once reset all was good. If appears inertia switch kills ignition feed so if you have multiple ignition fed electrics not working then check the inertia switch. Simply press down on the top of it and if you feel a click then it has tripped and all should now be good
