Sitting still at traffic lights I have noticed that some times the brake pedal seems to “throb”. If i increase or reduce the pressure on the pedal it stops but at a particular pressure there is a definite throbbing felt through my foot. Can anybody tell me please what causes this and whether or not it is an indicator of the need to replace the servo?

Re: Mk2 Throbbing Brake Pedal
Hello Rick,
that's a nw one and I admit that I don't know. If it doesn't happen when travelling I wouldn't worry.
One answer is to not keep your foot on the brake when stopped.

Re: Mk2 Throbbing Brake Pedal
For anyone that is interested I sorted the problem. I thought I would check the valve on the Reservac tank only to find there was no tank fitted to my car!
Having corrected that situation the brake pedal no longer throbs and the braking is much more consistent
