Headlining

Hi All, This topic has been raised before but after a quick check, it would appear that it was last raised back in 2013. I wonder whether anyone has any further updates on this matter. I have been directed to this month's JEC Magazine(Oct) page 137 where a company called PRS Autos are advertising a replacement headlining service. Anyone had any dealings with this company? Ideally, I would like to find a company that can perhaps re-stick my existing headlining of my 1999 XJ8 as it is in rather good condition and is just suffering with glue deterioration. I await your responses.

Went to PRS Last week To Lincoln for my x300 roof lining. Soon as I seen the unit I came away. My opinion STAY CLEAR.

It's not the glue that deteroriates, it's the foam that its attached to that becomes granules and eventually breaks up at the slightest excuse. Repeated heat / cold over the years causes the foam's deterioration IMO

Not wanting to shell out £145 plus £120 for fitting and run the risk of having to fold in the new headlining board to get it into my SWB XJ8 Sport (or shell out for rear window removal) I used a plastic bead from B&Q, bent it in a boiling pan of water, and wedged it between the surround rail either side. My droop was virtually full, from front to back. That was OK. OK until this year's warm weather started again and the heat also caused the plastic bead to droop too

Despite the fact that this thread is a bit dated, I am placing a post here on behalf of a non-member of the JEC, who cannot post in his own right because he isn't a member.

This chap has successfully self-installed a headlining in his XJ8 SE 3.2 (1998) from a Jaguar Headline specialist in located in Ramsgate, see the link below. Having perused the website, they appear to supply headlining for multiple Jaguar models, including S-type and X-type.

The full information from the non-member is as follows: "I have read posts on the forums where owners are struggling to fix sagging headlining. For some reason I can't post, probably as I am not a member, but I have used http://www.jaguarheadlinings.com/en/jag ... t-diy.html and found them very helpful. I fitted it myself and it went very well."
