I’m looking at buying another X150 (last one sold with regret!)
Found one I have got to an advance stage of buying (deposit etc) but at the eleventh hour the dealer cannot locate the carpeted boot floor section which covers the spare wheel recess. He’s suggesting that having asked the original owner that the car was never supplied with one and that it was an optional extra.
I’ve expressed surprise at this and said thought that all XKs would have had a solid boot floor (with rubbing strips from memory) whereas optional extras were a carpet mat for the boot or alternatively a rubber version.
Does anyone have any recollection that the carpeted, rigid boot floor was not installed in these cars?
It’s a MY15.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Spare wheel cover / boot floor
In the majority of cases, the boot floor cover, with the rubbing strips was a standard fit / finish. However, following the need to no longer provide a spare wheel of any description, see ongoing threads in the magazine, it is likely that the manufacturer elected not to offer a boot floor, making the boot larger, if less ergonomic.
So potentially very likely that a MY 15 is not fitted with a boot floor as standard.

Re: Spare wheel cover / boot floor
Jim - thanks for the speedy reply.
The missing load floor has magically turned up with the dealer - which I’m very pleased about.
A quick follow up question to X150 owners if I could and apologies but this is firmly into anorak territory...
When I last had an X150 it was a 2011 model. The boot floor section referred to in this thread had four rubber / chrome rubbing strips across the top of it. The photo I’ve seen from the 2014 model I’m now buying does not have these.
Just wonder whether any 2014 era owners would kindly be able to confirm that this stacks up with their own cars, ie if you’ve got a circa 2014 X150, does the carpeted boot floor board which sits on top of the spare wheel recess just have carpet and a lifting handle on it and specifically no rubber / chrome strips across it.
Many thanks.

Re: Spare wheel cover / boot floor
Think I can answer my own question, courtesy of Autotrader anyway...
Having looked at photos of the boots of a number of X150s currently for sale, it seems that circa 2013 the rubbing strips on the boot floor disappeared for some reason - cost cutting perhaps.

As the owner of a late car, I can confirm the omission probably for the reason you speculated. Looking on the bright side, if you use a standard Jaguar boot liner, you don't lose any more vital boot depth than a version with the rubbing strips!
