Another newbie

Hi.
Had Jags for a long, long time but just took delivery today of my first S Type.
2003 4.2 V8, metallic black with ivory trim, 48000 miles.
Solid underneath.
Most obvious fault at the moment (well, the first one anyway) is the exterior temperature gauge reading 53 centigrade; I know it was hot but that is just silly.

Well done Steve - I shall look forward to seeing that one! Hopefully not long until we can all meet up at Kemble again

Great that you have the 4.2, Steve. Such low mileage as well.

Worth getting some Dinatrol or Wax oil into those sills. I`d also recommend an early gearbox and diff oil change given the age of the car. Preventative maintenance at its most pro-active.

This car should do you well. The 4.2 N/A is in my opinion the best of the bunch with an almost bulletproof engine.

Thanks for the info Mike.
The vendor was kind enough to put the car on a 4 post lift for me so that I could have a good poke around underneath and it is in really good condition.
Stainless exhaust too although it is a bit too quiet for my childish tastes!

Just realised that Saturday mornings, at he moment, we go past the Dinky Diner on our way to Laine's to let the hound run free.

We live quite close to that diner near Burbage that advertises clean toilets (even though you can't use them at the moment) and usually has shed loads of nice motorcycles there; ample parking and you can walk your dog.

Maybe the meet ups don't always have to be such an expedition?
