Fuel tank condition, and availability of good units. The possibility of re manufacture.
More to come on this subject, Let me know what your feelings are about repair, and remanufacture of these units.

I have recently had to replace petrol tanks on my XJ6 series 1 and thought I would get the originals given the ReNu process. They looked very good but were wider than before and so would not easily slip up under the wing. So had to lever them in. Bad decision. The process used involves blasting the tank inside and out before applying a petrol resistant layer on the inside and a thick "bituminous" looking layer on the outside. But the metal after blasting away rust may be left very thin and fragile. The base of my tank gave way! Basically a write off now. So be cautious
