X351 Jaguar windscreen
Moderator:ct575
I have a leak somewhere on the left side of the windscreen. The screen isn't damaged and doesn't need replacing but I've heard you cannot re-seat the windscreen. Is that right? If so, does anyone know how I can cure the leak without damaging the screen or replacing it?
Re: X351 Jaguar windscreen
Sealer on the outside is something of a bodge.
Have you spoken to a reputable autoglass company? They would be in the best position to advise you.

Re: X351 Jaguar windscreen
Thanks Mike
Autoglass said they could for 200.00 plus VAT, National Windscreens said you couldn't re-seat, and another local screen company said you can with the right tools. My concern would be if the local fitter tried and cracked the screen, and my other thought is whether National wouldn't re-seat because of the danger and that they could make more money from a complete replacement.
I've taken the A-Pillar trim off and was very wet. I've dried it out and put some sealant around the outside so before I send it away for re-seating, I'll see if I've stopped the flow.
Thanks for your advice

Re: X351 Jaguar windscreen
Update: Local screen fitter removed and re-seated the screen without damage. the seal around the windscreen in almost all areas was poor and leaking. Not sure how it lasted as long as it did.
All now sealed, electric screen heater working and back to how it should be.
