New member Series 1 2 plus 2 Auto

Hello to everyone, I have just joined JEC after purchasing my first E Type, a 1966 4.2 2 plus 2 auto. I purchased it as a 1.5 series but after some investigation it turns out it is an original RHD series 1. I am led to believe that this could be rare and I would love to try find out a bit more about how many RHD series 1, 2 plus 2 4.2 autos were produced and how many still remain. I know its not the most desirable E Type but for me it was truly love at first sight!!!! Any information would be much appreciated. Many thanks in Advance.

Hi Paul,

I've just noticed your post.....I have a similar car, as does Art who is the forum coordinator, though his is manual. The models section of this site says there were 974 produced but there isn't any further breakdown of that figure.

My car has a Series 1 Heritage certificate but having attended quite a few shows and events there is much debate about what really constitutes a Series 1 vs 1.5!

I bought my car in 2011 and I'm pretty sure I put my car's details on a register....can't find it on the JEC site so it must have been somewhere else but I can't remember where. I'll have a Google around and see if I can track it down.
