I've only owned my XJ for a week and have just noticed something odd. The digital clock in the top right hand corner of the touch screen does not keep time when driving.
For example. When I start a journey the time stays the same regardless of how long I drive ie start at 7.00, drive for 15 mins, at journey end time still reads 7.00.
But, if I leave the car for 15 mins and then start the engine, the clock reads 7.15.
So, it only counts time with the engine off.
Any thoughts?

Re: Touch screen clock
Sounds like a software glitch. I’d try a reset by disconnecting the battery for an hour then reconnecting. Not familiar with your model but you may have to reset radio etc....others may be able to advise specifics.

However, you've tripped over Jaguar's reuse of the XJ label. This forum is for the cars up to 2008, and their touch screen has no clock (I've just been to check, just in case I'd missed it!); ask again in the "XJ" forums.
That said, Rod's answer may well be correct.

Sorry. I don't understand your answer.
Mine is a 2005 x350 . Is this not the correct forum?

Re: Touch screen clock
After some investigation work, it all seems to get more confusing.
Evidently, the XJ touch screen does not incorporate a digital clock. Mine does.
The hand book and touch screen manuals state that only the X - Type and S Type have digital clocks, the XJ has an analogue clock only. Mine has both.
I have attached some images

Re: Touch screen clock
Interesting! A few possibilities:
1. Jaguar use the same gubbins on the XJ as the X- and S-types, and you car got misconfigured (either originally or after some dealer work)
2. The XJ has a digital clock in some localities (China/Japan/Antarctica/Easter Island/somewhere???) and your is setup appropriately
2a. Some additional kit such as TV or carphone causes the clock to appear; the kit itself might not actually need to be installed
3. Your touch screen failed and got replaced with working bits from another model
4. Software gremlins. Try rebooting. If that fails, try reinstalling. That's what I always tell people!
Anyway, as the waiter said to the man complaining about the fly in his soup "Not so loud; they'll all want one!"
