Wet Weather Cutting Out - 1991 3.6 auto

Having an issue now the really wet weather has arrived. Engine cuts out momentarily then cuts back in, in really wet conditions when there's lots of spray about etc. Rev counter drops like a stone to the stop then flicks back up. Sure its a water ingress issue as in dry conditions there no problem. Whats should I be looking to clean, protect, or move.

Erm, which car?

The V12s and 6 cylinders have different vulnerabilities.

So do the 3.6s and 4.0s and even between 4.0s.

Distributor is a good place to look on a 6 but less so on 12. The front aux coil on a 12 is quite exposed (where it has it.) The amp module on a 12 that has it can fail and cause the symptoms you mention, although water doesn't usually play a part.

If the tacho is going to zero this suggests an LT fault. Ignition switches can be to blame for this but so can lots else, including relays.
