Ok thanks.
I guess there may well be a compatibility glitch outside the models stated, otherwise they wouldn’t be mentioning it (trying to indemnify...).

I can`t confirm that, Naki.

Perhaps best to contact the suppliers technical department.

Mike K
I just had this back.
Seems odd to not make it backwards compatible?
So now I am confused what to buy? You would think the “latest version” should be the best way to proceed? But essentially, all my cars are between 94-03, so the older unit recommenced may well be better for those.
Mike, have you tried your “LR11” on anything older than your 2004?

“Naki, Thanks for contacting us LR V2.0 can work on Jaguar and Land Rover between 1997-2000. But the functions are limited, they are mainly Airbag, ABS, Transmission, Engine, Air conditioning. LR V2.0 can't work on before 1997 year. For 2003, LR V2.0 can work on multi-systems for it. However, if the customer require specific functions for specific vehicles, please confirm with us further. Regards“

Sorry. I don`t have the LR11, just the 930i.

Ok thanks for confirming.
I think I will order the 930i version then to be on the safe side, as that seems more compatible with the older models

Thanks to the recommendations on here, I have been enjoying using the new i930 gadget. It’s paid for itself already I am sure. I hope to get many years good service out of it.
Has anyone used it on any other car than a JLR product? I wonder whether asking it to check my partners 03 VW Polo, is too much to ask too?
I noticed on one if the modes, it does have a drop down menu with other car brands on there too.

Naki - I think you may be able to use it as a general code reader but you won't be able to access the range of areas that you can for JLR cars such as turning off ABS fault lights etc.

For the Polo you'll need VCDS (Vag Com Diagnostic System) That runs on a lap top with a USB dongle to your same OBDii port.

There are other "universal" code reader leads out there that connect to a lap top. And other hand held devices that claim universality. But they only read generic "p" codes and don't tell you much else.
On a Polo with VCDS you'd have the option to switching on and off various functions as well as read and clear VW fault codes -- I switched on various options specific for the US market such as indicators at 40% intensity as cruise lights, fogs as DRLs, or fogs as direction indicating, on my '06MY Passat
Gone: '59 Mark I, '56 Mark VIIM, '59 Mark IX, '01 XJ8 Sovereign 4L LWB, '01 XJ8 Sport 3.2L, '01 XJ8 Exec 3.2L
Current: '03 Strange Rover L322
Completing re-trim: '73 Owen Sedanca 4.2L
Now being re-built: '61 Mark IX with 4.2L

The 930i is JLR specific.

iCarsoft market alternative products to read other specific makes.
