Heated windscreen replacement

Postby geeegs » Sat Oct 06, 2018 10:43 pm

Has anyone got their heated windscreen replaced via their insurers even though the windscreen isn't cracked or chipped, only the heating element broken?
I rang up my insurers esure who put me through to autoglass, who informed me that the element isn't covered through the insurance policy but they'd happily replace it for £356!

Just a thought before you contemplate changing the screen, have you checked the fuse and also the connector for the side that is not working. :D

Thanks for the heads up; just been out to check. They look ok, but the fuses are unlike anything I've ever come across before. Might it be worth changing them just in case?

No need to change if they check out with a meter. Also worth checking you have power at the screen connector.
