Headlamp levelling device inoperative

Postby pgrant5 » Thu Aug 02, 2018 5:10 pm

Hi All,
Just purchased a Daimler Super V8 2001, according to new MOT rules, the switch in the car that raises or lowers the level of the headlamps has to be working. Mine has just failed because the N/S is not working, I have searched every where on the web, and have no idea what to replace. If anyone has any more information, I will extremely grateful for any suggestions.

Kindest Regards

Peter

Hi Peter,
These are the parts of the headlamp assembly

HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY
No. Description
1 + Quad headlamp
2 + Headlamp bulb
3 + Bulb
4 + Nut and washer
5 + Light unit
6 + Light unit
7 + Headlamp leveling actuator
8 + Headlamp adjustment kit
9 + Headlamp bulb harness
10 + Plain washer
I would start with the usual fault finding mission of checking fuses and if there is power getting to the unit etc.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Enjoy the luxury of the X308 my friend.
