hello where exactly is the engine to body earthing strap on a RHD 1990 V12 ?

At least some earlier cars had a strap towards the rear of the engine bay close to one of the exhausts. Mike.

I will have a look when it gets warmer , winter has just set in here
I have never seen an earthing strap engine to body on any of my XJ's before although logically there must be one
I have been having some hesitant starts lately and after cleaning the starter contacts and the battery to body connection things were much improved and then I found reference to an engine to body strap so let's hope cleaning it will further help

To rule out the problem, try using a jump lead from the engine to the chassis to add a temporary earth. If the car starts better from cold, it will give you the evidence you need. Mike.
