Somewhere, I have a photo that I took on a cheap Kodak Instamatic in 1978 of the speedo in my first car, a 1962 Vauxhall FB Victor as it clicked over from 99999 to 00000. Now that WAS a feat in those days as the idea of a car doing 100,000 miles was pretty unusual and presumably the reason that speedos didn't even run to 6 digits then! Must go and dig out the photo.....

My old-man had an old Victor estate, FC I think with a 3.3 litre 6 cylinder engine. I'm not sure that it had the name Ventora on the back as one would think, I'm sure it had Victor, but it had the tell-tail twin rear pipes. Lots of torque, good for pulling the caravan he said.

That would have been the short-lived Vauxhall Victor FD estate with the optional 3.3 engine. Quite a torquey lump. Most of the 3.3 were Ventora, the only Victor being the revised estate that was introduced, I think, in '69.

That will be really handy if you are upside down in a ditch and the insurance company wants to know how many miles you have done that year.

M50 NAK now on auction, though i suspect the reserve will be close to the full asking?
I suspect the bidding will go to around £2700-£3200?

...and it is still for sale another two months later.

It made £3200-3500 RNM on ebay, when it was on auction various times, and now £4950 classified.
It will sell eventually, but i think theres a wait on....
i would be interested to hear anyone else's opinion, as it seems very few people have been to see it?
