M.O.T. Time

Postby Andy P » Sun Jun 25, 2017 2:31 pm

Took the car for the M.O.T last Friday and was pleasantly surprised with the result, one advisory, front nearside wheel little bit of drag while spinning :( ,probably sticky caliper pins I hope, will have a look this coming week.
So all my cleaning of the brake pipes and fuel lines which I'm pretty obsessed about to be truthful and general cleaning underneath must of paid off.

Emission Result

The emissions were very good as well, also on the drive back home my P1111 set itself after about 3 months of showing P1000 or might of set during the fast idle test(to much tech for me),anyway I'm very happy with all of that.
Now I know it's in pretty good shape it's time to undertake the rear suspension(I have noises)but thanks to this Forum I know where to look.
Be happy :D

This link might help you with P1000 and P1111 displays. Essentially, the codes are not fault codes but an indication that the car is ready and able to be diagnosed. They just sit there in the background and are not a cause for concern.viewtopic.php?f=281&t=11122&hilit=p1000

Hello to my fellow X308 owners,
had M.O.T. last week and passed with no advisories and the emissions were lower than the year before so I'm very happy.

Just had my 57 year old Mk2 MOT'd. I have had it 18 years and still going strong. No advisories (touch wood I can keep it like that) but there again does not have the rigorous testing of later cars.
Good to look after our cars, that is what I enjoy.

Congratulations on your MOT pass.
Totally agree with looking after them,I'm just glad I have the ability to do the maintenance and other stuff that needs doing.
Saw some nice Mk2's at Wroxal Abbey, the interior's from that era are amazing.
Take care.

Hi everyone.
Just an update on the MOT which I had a couple of weeks ago.
Car passed with no advisories so well happy with that.
This is my fourth year of owning this car and it stiil never fails to please me. :D
I must of forgot to post last years update, don't know why :o
But it passed last year with no advisories as well.
In November this year it is 20 years old,so that can't be bad. :D
Take care and look after your pride and joy's.
