2007 XKR Front bumper replacement

Dear Jaguar enthusiasts,

Sorry to trouble you, but do you know if its possible to replace the 2007 front pumper for the newer facelift front pumper (the one with the vertical chrome strips at either end ?). Do you know if I could replace the bumper without incurring any other bodywork (bonnet, front side panels) alterations.

Any comments would be gratefully appreciated.

I've not known anyone who has swapped bumpers but it's quite likely to work OK with one proviso. Stick with the non LED headlamp bumper to reduce the risk of problems. The later cars had several changes to the wing/bumper/headlamp areas which might easily have included some revised fixings etc. Mike.

There is an interim bumper available on 2010 models only which has the vertical chrome vents. If you go for 2011 or newer then there are major changes due to the LED headlights. This involves changes to the wings and hence is very expensive but once again is possible. However, I have heard of problems in getting the LEDs to work correctly.

I actually have a 2010 front bumper assembly in my garage which I was planning to fit to my 2007 XK but that all changed when I bought a 2010 XKR. If you are interested, please let me know and I'll get some details to you. This version of the bumpers a straight bolt on job to replace a 2007 front bumper.
