Hi,
Has anyone tried/succeeded in replacing the S-type single-line for a 420 dual-line system and what are the pitfalls?
Thanks,
Fred

Hello Fred,
have you considered changing the brake lines for non ferrous pipes and fittings and use aeroquip flexible hoses. It may be easier and cheaper and 99.9% as good?

Hello Brian,
what make syou think I'm stuck on originality? This is how I allways restore brakes on my cars. I don't like things like modern electronic ignition systems or electronic injection as some do, particularly in the Triumph world. I do have ideas for the future of putting Lucas injection on my MK 2 some time!

Re: dual-line hydraulic braking system
Funny you should say that Alec, since I've removed the LPG system and so no longer have the range of two tanks I am finding that our range on petrol and Carburretors is only about 185 miles (20 mpg).
As our slow speed classic rallies cover about 220 miles door to door then we are always looking for a petrol station open on a Sunday (very few down country lanes). With this in mind I have considered EFI but into the underside of the inlet manifold so it can't be seen (My ignition ECU is actually a full EFI and ignition ECU), but I can't find any evidence of mpg improvement from series 3 XJ6's or similar. So we will carry two 1 gallon gerry cans as a reserve.
As they always said a Jaguar will pass anything but a petrol station!

Hello Brian,
a pessimistic fuel gauge, 12 gallons x 20mpg should give a range of 240 miles, spare fuel is a good idea however?
