STOP PRESS - JDHT Museum Visit Sunday 24th February 2008

Dear All

Well, we got there in the end! I have spoken to Tony O'Keeffe (at JDHT) today and he has confirmed our visit to the Museum on the above date.

Initial Details are as follows :-

Museum is open 10.00am - 4.00pm.

Arrive at Museum 10.30 am for 11.00 start, I think this will give sufficient time for those travelling a distance to get there.
For those who can make it at 10.30, Tony has kindly offered the staff facilities to make tea and coffee........if you want biscuits you'll have to bring them yourselves! Also, if we wish the Boardroom is available to us to sit down, chat, make introductions etc.

11.00 - 1.00pm Tony or one of his colleagues will give us a guided tour of the Museum including the Workshop facilities.

Afterwards Tony has recommended The White Lion "just up the road" as a good lunch venue (I will gather further details re parking, booking etc. presently) . So we can adjourn for lunch and then make our way home at our leisure

Apparently access to the Museum will be by the historic Browns Lane gates. I will post further details re access, parking etc. when I receive them via e-mail from JDHT.

For the moment.........can everyone definately attending please confirm on this thread asap so I can give details of numbers attending (including passengers if applicable). I have initially suggested that I am expecting between six to twelve cars to attend.

Tony O'Keeffe tells me that he is a BIG XJS fan and is very much looking forward to seeing us all, so lets try for a good turnout :D

Finally, for the moment, may I say how pleased I am that we are going on our first trip out (notwithstanding Booze Cruises) and I hope it leads to many more.

Very Best Wishes

Michael

No problem - I look forward to seeing you again, just one thing, can you bring the DB7 or will it be tucked up for the winter?
I'm sure we'd all like to have a look, kick the tyres, draw breath thru teeth etc etc............ 8)

Hi Tony

my car is to be used and not an ornament as it has been in the past owners hands so if it is allowed I will bring the DB7 as it is part Jaguar.

Thanks
Michael

Roger XJRS

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your interest in our day out :D

I cannot say how many ladies will be attending but looking at the previous posts it looks like three or four? Libby will be coming with me.
I DO hope you can attend as it would be lovely to meet both you and Kerry and I am sure your rolling restoration will attract much interest. (Also you will be in on the first Forum meet as (probably) the newest Forum Member!)

So far we have a mix of XJS's, XJ8, DB7 - quite an assortment!

Please do confirm as a definate if you ARE coming
I am going to give JDHT an idea of numbers within the week.

Best Wishes

DH Dove

PS Pop Rivet - was that plate of eggs a confirmation of your attending? (sorry forgot to ask :? )

Just finished some sanding and spraying today:D (so looking half presentable). So providing it isn't raining me and the mobile swimming pool/rolling restoration, will be attending with 1 or 2 guest.
If raining I'll be in my accord!
