12V supply in boot/trunk

Postby MyQuest » Thu Feb 02, 2017 11:20 am

I posted this on the New Arrivals - and now found the correct place - doh!

I have a new XE S on order and want to know if there is a 12 Volt pick up stud/bolt in the rear boot/trunk area?
Had one in my 2013 XK which made connecting a CTEK battery conditioner a simple task.

Thanks and hello X760 people..!

Hi Mike,

I leave it to others to give you a definitive answer but there may be a clue in that Jaguar's instructions to dealers about keeping XE showroom cars charged involve using the under bonnet jump start posts. This is unlike the current F-Type instructions where using the boot located charging posts (similar to the XK) is the preferred method. Mike.

Hello Mike,
I have an XE Sport 240 which spends alot of time garaged when I am away, so I had my dealer fit the "Battery Conditioner" accessory (about £180), which is a CTEK charger but with the Jag logo on. They fit a special purpose socket in the boot, so once in the garage I just plug in the charger. I used a CTEK on my XK8 for 10 years and never needed to change the battery which was always topped up. Further more, since fitting, the stop/start system works all the time.
Hope that helps,
Peter
