Hi,
The right side door on my 1994 car is sagging now. I had the idea of changing the door hinges, but they do not seem to be availiable new now. As far as Iunderstand the parts no. are FHE3042AA for the top one and RTC1669 for the bottom one.
Is there any alternative to go for second hand units?
Best regards
Björn

Re: Door hinges 1994
Bjorn - faced with the the same problem with my 1989 coupe what I did was to take the hinges apart, drill them out and insert an oilite sleeve and new pins.
They are very hard to find as they are not available new and the second hand ones will probably have the same issue as yours.
The only other suggestion I have is that as the drivers side is usually the one with the most wear see if you can find a second hand one from a car where they drive on the other side of the road. In other words, try to find a passenger one in good condition that will fit your drivers side
Hope that helps

I'm quite tempted myself as I'm also suffering from the droop, its an age thing I suppose

Re: Door hinges 1994
All worn as a result failing to put a little oil on them once a year. Once the pin siezes in the bushings the pin stays put and the hinge body grinds itself an oval hole to wallow around in.
Really difficult to change as well, I made the mistake a few years ago of buying a 'perfect' used set on ebay and not checking them well enough before stripping the car apart. With the tension spring that holds the door open wear can't be spotted easily and of course a tiny movement in the pin equates to a large drop with the weight and length of the door hanging from it. The replacement was worse then the original, a total waste of money and a couple of days, I could have sent it back but never had the heart to change it over again so I still have the original part in the garage somewhere.
I really need to tackle the job again but I'm not looking forward to it. As long as the bushings are ok, I wonder if welding the pin to stop it turning will do the job? I guess it will need to be aligned perfectly though.
