Well here they are prior to attending the Portsmouth Region Weald and Downland event this coming Sunday 21st August 2016. Having booked into a hotel in Fareham, they ended up with me at "The Castle in the Air".
Michelle is the one in the dress and BB is the one without hair.
Vince asked me whether I had a large supercharger pulley he could see. I was able to oblige. Here we are examining one over a pint. Odd what you keep in your pockets as you get older.
Here we are somewhat over inflated after refreshments. I must get the Landlord not to gas the beer up so much. Even so, someone said we were the best dressed Jaguar owners they had seen in ages.
Tomorrow sees us going to sea at lunchtime in the yacht I`ve just spent three months reconditioning. Hopefully we will not run aground and get back in time to attend the show on Sunday. I`ll put some toilet rolls aboard together with my tool kit. That should cover most eventualities.

Must be two of the most worked on and complete cars. Keep up the good posts. We can all learn something from them.

It's going to be windy and lumpy tomorrow, better take a sou'wester too!
Re: Mr & Mrs Brake Buster on tour in Portsmouth!
Vince and I cancelled the boat trip on Saturday. 45mph gusts and vicious ran.
The weather moderated this Sunday morning but was still poor until shortly before lunch. However, it was good enough for the Portsmouth guys to get over to Weald and Downland and erect three half decent gazebos which somehow managed to survive the day.
About 150 Jaguars turned up despite the dank weather. About 40 down on last year which we put down to the slightly disappointing conditions. The raffle car made about £900 in sales which is pretty good going. Thanks to Simon and Ann Cronin for bringing the car down and to Simon also for running the commentary for the arena display. Our thanks also to JH for the loan of the Group 44 V12 racing E-type. That is a monstrous performer if ever these was one. Take your ear muffs!
Then this gang of scruffs managed to get themselves organised! The only bod missing from this BB quango at the time was David Randall who turned up a bit later. Glade to meet you, David. These pics show some of the arena high lights which I think you will agree cover a good selection of Jaguar history. I would have added more images but the site is now refusing to allow more than three images to be added to one posting. I wish we could get this sorted out once and for always.
Anyone else got any good images to add here?
A great day. Thanks to the Portsmouth Committee, members, the marshals, visiting helpers and JH.

Re: Mr & Mrs Brake Buster on tour in Portsmouth!
first of all a big thanks to Mike Kennedy for making us feel so welcome this weekend, and a sensible move not to go out on the water on Saturday ,especially given the tragic news from around the country this weekend ,
Portsmouth is a great part of the country to spend a few days leading up to a very well organised and well attended jaguar car show at a very picturesque venue with a wealth of historic buildings preserved in the open air museum , and the 'steam fair ' was most enjoyable , especially the steam powered carousel with a steam organ playing olde worlde music while we went round and round and round , especially as the weather held and improved to bright sunshine by the mid afternoon. so congratulation to all the organisers and helpers for making a great show
a great selection of jaguar cars from the XK120 to the latest vehicles rolling off the production line, though it was a surprise to only see half a dozen XJS's and one XJ40 out of the 170+ cars in the field ,
i ( and Mrs Brakebuster ) are glad we made the effort to come down from Gloucester to attend this show, and i would recommend it to anyone who may be thinking its too far to go..
good to meet up with existing friends and to meet new ones , long may it continue

Re: Mr & Mrs Brake Buster on tour in Portsmouth!
A great day out and thanks to Mike and his Region for their hospitality and organisation! Good work also by Simon & Ann Cronin & to hear Simon's dulcet tones on the arena presentation.
As mentioned by BB, it was good to see some old friends and meet some new people. I was also intrigued by the number of relatively new Jaguar models attending. The popularity of XF & XE must surely bode well for our ability as a club to attract significant numbers of new members as the range of cars launched in the last 10 years has clearly brought a whole new cadre of people to Jaguar ownership. It did sadly make me realise how rare it is to see another XJS on the road these days.
Mike may live on the water but he clearly hasn't developed a seaman's knack of forecasting the weather! He assured me of good weather (which, in fairness, we did have during the show!) but my 200-mile top-down round journey hit rain on both legs! So I used the old XJS-owners trick. Put the hood up? Nah, just drive much faster!!

Re: Mr & Mrs Brake Buster on tour in Portsmouth!
Great to see you all today and many thanks to Mike and the Portsmouth Region for your kind hospitality. What a lovely event! Loved the steam fair - you can't beat that smell and a steam engine even at rest is still "alive" as it sits there hissing and dripping ( or was that Mike?!!)
It was great to meet some new XJS owners - there were some interesting cars present and gave me inspiration for future magazine articles.
Overall a really enjoyable day. Congratulations and thanks to all involved in making it a success. Please do it again next year!
