The value must surely be what someone is seriously offering at a particular time. Whether that is acceptable to a seller is another matter. When an agreement is reached between buyer and seller, then that is the true value in my opinion.

Prevailing political, economic and market conditions will often affect the supply of money available in peoples pockets. Uniqueness or perceived or actual desirability not to mention provinence and object history also governs an objects worth.

Hi all, haven't been on the JEC boards in ages as things seemed to fizzle out, then there was xjr.com ... which fizzled out, sadly. Just to show these things are out there I "accidentally" bought an M reg XJR manual last November. Its interesting to see the £1200 car up for £7K, a tad ambitious maybe. But it gets me thinking about the investment potential of these cars, and therefore what to justify spending on it.

While I'm in the XJ40/X300 forum I'll mention that I also stumbled on a 1992 XJ40 3.2 manual soon after. But that's another story ....

Regards, Chris.
