Dimensions

Postby jeff1954 » Sat Jun 11, 2016 4:27 pm

Hi I am thinking of changing my SType for a late mk 1 or an early mk 2 XK8 and I would like to know the maximum length and width (including mirrors) as access to my garage is a bit tight.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jeff
My MY02 , last of the four litre versions, is 15'8" long and 6'9" wide including mirrors approximately, using real world measurements as opposed to the manufacturers spec!
I would use 16' and 7' to give a bit of leeway.!
Relatively big car outside but there is bu**er all space inside especially in the rear seats !!

Obviously you need even more clearance to get out of it when inside the garage. !!! Unless you get a convertible of course :D

Thanks for that. It's not the garage that is the problem it being 22ft x 10ft but the distance of 8ft between the house and the dividing fence of next doors property to get to the garage. The SType goes through fine.

Ah, I see ! sorry about that, jumped to a conclusion when you asked for the length and width... based on the fact that some "garages" are not really and tend to be a size less than a shoebox!

Anyway at 8 feet you will have no problem getting an XK8 up your back passage ! ooh err,

If the mirrors autofold then even more clearance.
Unless of course the X150 is wider? anyone?

The X150 is slightly wider at 81.5 inches (mirrors in normal location, i.e. extended). 74.5inches is the measurement with mirrors folded. Length is 187 inches. Mike.

Thanks to you both for that. Pardon my ignorance but is the X150 the latest model.

Yes. The (steel-bodied) XK/XKR are X100 and the later (aluminium) XK/XKR being X150.
