Leather seat repairs

Postby MichaelSB » Fri Oct 12, 2007 8:21 am

I have noticed while looking for a car to buy that most have serious wear on the drivers seat outer bolster.

What is the best way to fix this?

Is it to buy a new seat skin and are they still available?

Is it to have it reapolstered by a specialist?

Which way gives the best result and what are the average costs?

I am also concerned that if I re-trim the whole interior as I am looking for a celebration model I will loose the embossing on the seats.

Your advise would be helpful as most cars I have rejected in my search have be spoilt in this way.

Thanks
Michael

Michael

Well I can't really help you much in the restoration department but on my travels I came across this site. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Jaguar-Trim-Shop

I know its on Ebay but I'm led to believe the chap in charge bought the stock direct from Jaguar.
