My Italian Racing Red car has a small stone chip just under the boot lip after just 6 weeks ownership, I would appreciate any advice on a good place to get a touch up pot or stick.
On another matter I have just got the car to 1600 miles and the service required indicator says service due in 1250 miles!!!
Now that's something like 14,000 miles off schedule and I have been quite gentle as we are running in as per the handbook.
The car was preregistered and came to me with a few hundred miles on the clock and was registered 30/06/2015 so its still 6 months away from its first date of registration birthday.
Has anyone had similar issues with their Jaguar service indicator? and if so what was the explanation or outcome?
One more thing I have read on a US forum that US dealers are doing the first service Gratis
but the dealer I purchased from and my local dealer have said that is not the case in the UK.
Any opinion or experience appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi. The first paint chip is always bad news....
I've used a company called "paints for u" in the past, I found them to be really good both in terms of quality and price

Chips Away is also another.
I used Halfords who get orders for one of their own contractors. All top body guys who come to you n a van and do a first class job in a couple of hours. Very pleased with their work. Perfect match and finish. Just make the operator a cup of tea!

Re: touch up paint, first service / service indicator
FWIW living in Yorkshire and being mean, I baulked at paying for an Italian Red touch up stick from a main dealer so I bought a non Jaguar one from eBay at less than half price.
Jaguars are not selling as well as they used to do in the USA. Hence, recently, cars sold there have had their prices realigned (reduced!), specs have been improved and the servicing and warranty arrangements have been changed as part of the sales mix. Different markets demand different treatment including whether the first and/or subsequent services are thrown into the purchase package in the same way as some markets are still driven by outright purchases and others by leasing. From memory, the US market currently only has a 60K mile warranty versus the UK unlimited mileage arrangement so there are plusses and minuses. Mike.

Re: touch up paint, first service / service indicator
Hi all and thank you for the replies and advice all of which help greatly, I did contact Jaguar about the service indicator and was told to call Jaguar assist, I did as advised and a technician from Jaguar said don't worry about it too much but the options are:
A, just get its serviced in 1250 mile
B, Get it serviced at 1 year old and ignore the indicator
C, Call selling dealer to see if they would pay for an early oil change.
D, See if a local dealer would do a reset on the indicator.
Feeling no further ahead I decided to call the selling dealer, their service department said the indicator could be reset manually but when they tried it it always failed to work
They could not remember how to do it but would look it up and call me back, they did call back and offered to pay for an oil change if I sent them an invoice from my local dealer once it was done.
So good result in the end.
However for future reference for any other members on a 2015 F type to reset the service indicator try the following:
Turn on the ignition.
Open the bonnet
Press the brake pedal and accelerator fully for 10 seconds
Turn off the ignition
Close the bonnet
Turn on the ignition
Service indicator should be reset
If this fails try it again
This seems to have worked first time on my car.
Something else I have asked and had a reply about from Jaguar and Mike 020150 may have sympathy with me on this!
As a tightfisted Fenlander If I have my car serviced by a specialist will the warranty be void?
No was the reply, your warranty will be valid as long as the specialist supplies you with full dated receipt and used genuine Jaguar parts. Warranty work will have to be done by a main dealer though.
So why did I ask this question..?
£378 for an oil change and fluid level check and almost £800 for the same plus a spark plug change, I have previously worked as a vehicle technician and know what is involved in both services and as I said I am a tightfisted Fenlander
Sorry for the long post
