interchanging parts

Hi Folks

I note that there are parts from later model XJSs that would fit my 78 XJS but the part number has changed. Is there any definitive summary or look-up table that lists these interchangeable parts?

Hi I have both a Pre HE and later cabriolet, many parts were changed on the later cars, the engine F.Injection, cpu, wheels, tyre size, in your case later gm gearbox, axle ratio. Do I need to go on? best to order by the old part No. The supplier should tell you if the part will fit regards Kels

Have you tried putting the part number in the David Manners Website It usually comes up with an alternative correct part number if available.
