Facelift XJS Footwell Carpets?

My mum asked what she could get me for my birthday, I thought, oh some new foot mats for the front of my jag. I've googled around for ages but no one has said yes I can match that colour and do a decent quality set of carpets. I didn't think it would be that hard. Will have to get them for Christmas at this rate!

Any thoughts on where best to try?

Annoyingly I missed a brand new set, genuine jaguar on ebay, went for £64 late last year, in the proper dark red colour I've got.

Aldridge Trimming made me a complete carpet set for my Celebration. The quality, fit and match were superb. I was really pleased with it.
I'd suggest a call to them to get a set made up.

I had my footwell carpets made by John Skinner who are local to my work.
I was very pleased with the end result.

I have a set ( 2x front 2x back ) of genuine XJS footwell carpets in ' Wine Red ' ( the darker red )with a heel pad and a ' JAGUAR ' logo stitched into them,

these are the genuine over-mats with foam backing sold by Jag some years back

I don't use them myself

and though not new are in near mint condition due to lack of use as they are out of the car.

if you can make it to Kemble breakfast meet this Saturday I can bring them up so you can see them ?

BB, I'm very interested in those. Are they this colour? Sadly I can't make it to the meet, I've got a pretty sick toddler at the minute, I'll spare you the gory details, but at 3am this morning, it wasn't pretty. I think my wife is bargaining on me giving her a break over the weekend!

The Vulcan bomber flew over which was a treat. And I'm in the grey sierra which can be seen spinning at about 85mph... I'm sure your meet is far more civilised than all that!

Remember that the mats sold for pre-facelift XJSs are a different shape to those sold for facelift XJSs.

And although it's not relevant to this query, convertible rear mats are also different to Coupe rear mats.

Yeah thanks, it seems relatively easy to get hold of pre-facelift mats. Several of the suppliers mentioned above list them on their websites, just not the facelift versions. Not surprisingly as the facelift wasn't around for long by comparison. About 4 out of 21 years I think?

As for the number of differences, not surprised either, so many variances. I think I might be sorted with BB's mats, but would probably end up sending off my old ones to ensure a fit, as extreme as that sounds.

It's so much easier to get mats for my Sierra. Proper carpet mats, genuine ford, logo, fitting kit, in original ford bag, full set for £26 posted. There was only one colour mind.

Regards the footwell carpets. If you have not got any yet, probabably the best solution is to get them from a specialist like BAS in Wales. Who manufacrure them and all sorts of pieces for Jaguars.

matched carpet perfect ,not cheap tho
